At Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Relationship and Health Education (RHE) supports pupils to develop healthy relationships, strong self-worth and an age-appropriate understanding of the world around them. Rooted in our Catholic mission and values, RHE nurtures pupils’ emotional, social and spiritual development as they learn how to live well with others and care for themselves and God’s creation.
We follow Life to the Full, the Catholic-approved programme from TenTen Resources, which provides a clear and progressive approach across the themes of loving relationships, personal health and emotional wellbeing. Learning is grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church and delivered in a way that is respectful, inclusive and appropriate for every child.
Pupils explore how to stay safe, form positive friendships, recognise their own gifts and develop resilience as they grow and change. They learn the importance of kindness, respect and responsibility, both online and offline, and are encouraged to reflect on their role within their families, school and wider community.
Our aim is for pupils to leave Holy Cross with confidence in who they are, an understanding of how to build healthy relationships and the knowledge and values needed to flourish now and in the future.
